Julián Ricardo Díaz

Pharmacist with over 14 years of work experience in the Intellectual Property field in Colombia.  Over his years of experience, he has acquired different skills in the management of different client’s IP portfolio in a vast number of technical fields. 

As part of his background in pharmacy, he has acquired all the skills needed to protect IP client’s inventions before the Colombian Patent Office. As part of this learning process, he has prosecuted different patent applications from filing to grant in different fields such as chemistry, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals mainly. His main focus is to strategically advise IP clients in the specific needs and requirements to get a patent granted under Colombian law. This includes analysis of inventions with inventors, analysis of objections from the Patent Office as well as the thorough understanding of technical arguments from IP clients. In this way, he guarantees that the technical responses are strong enough to convince a patent examiner and therefore, that the client’s inventions are protected in their broadest inventive concept.
