President Ivan Duque announced the extension of the previously adopted national quarantine, aimed to face the COVID-19 outbreak, until May 11, 2020. The Colombian government will allow the resume of specific economic activities, mainly, construction and manufacturing industries, under strict sanitary conditions.

The  Colombian Trademark and Patent Office activities will not be affected by the before mentioned extension of the quarantine period, considering that the services related to industrial property matters are enabled, since the virtual tools allow the implementation of any actions to be carried out through the offices’ online system.

In consequence, we recommend to timely observe the deadlines and procedures regarding industrial property matters before the Colombian Trademark and Patent Office.
