Dear Clients,
We address you concerning the current circumstances in connection with the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the measures adopted by our local authorities in Colombia that may impact our services.
First, we confirm that BRIGARD CASTRO has implemented all the necessary tools for our staff to perform their duties from home, with the purpose of reducing as much as possible any impact derived from the measures adopted to confront the epidemy. Thus, please do not hesitate to contact us if you require our services, as we will gladly provide you with our assessment in a prompt manner.
Our Trademark and Patent Office has suspended terms from March 17, 2020 until March 31, 2020 thus, deadlines will be postponed. Likewise, we anticipate this term to be extended until April 12, 2020, considering the national quarantine ordered by the government. However, the online system of the Trademark and Patent Office continues operational, therefore, is possible to file applications, changes of names, assignments, etc. Furthermore, applications for trademark registration renewals and patent annuities are available, and these terms will not be, for now, affected or extended.
Our Courts and Judges initially suspended terms as of March 16, 2020 until March 20, 2020. However, said term was first extended until April 3, 2020 and, afterwards, prolonged to April 12, 2020.
Finally, we confirm that our Health Authority -INVIMA- continues operating normally and has not adopted any measures regarding this situation. In any case, we expect the implementation of measures by this authority any time soon.
We will keep you duly posted on any decision, from any authority, that may impact our services.
We hope the situation is soon controlled and hope that we will overcome it without mayor concerns.
Best regards.
